With Cinco de Mayo rapidly approaching, West Hollywood staple Gracias Madre has announced the details for their annual party on May 5th. Taking place directly next to the restaurant on the corner of La Peer and Melrose, the event will run from 11am-10pm and will include a Pop-Up Margarita Garden. To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Gracias Madre will be serving street corn, fruit salad, nachos, and cauliflower tacos, along with Purista Margaritas, Tequila Puristas, Mezcal Mules, Mezcal Puristas, Canned Rose, and White Wine Sangria. Beverages at the event include options from El Silencio Mezcal, Altos Tequila, Siete Leguas Tequila, Calidad Beer, JUST Water, and wine from Garber & Co. There will also be a mariachi band, 2 DJ’s, a tarot reader, brand activations, and ice cream options from Craigs.
The restaurant is also excited to announce their new Mother’s Day Specials, which were created by Chef Armando Ayala and are available only on May 12th. This includes a Rose Petal Salad featuring butter lettuce, orange segments, roasted beets, grilled asparagus, grilled strawberries, radishes, crispy onions, and herb vinaigrette. Also on the menu is Strawberry Shortcake, which includes upside down cake, macerated strawberries, cashew whipped cream, vanilla ice-cream powder sugar, and mint sprig.
Launched in Los Angeles in 2014 from the Love Serve Remember restaurant group, which includes Café Gratitude and Gratitude Kitchen & Bar, Gracias Madre has continued to make an impact on the local food scene. Their focus is on serving cuisine inspired by the kitchens of Mexico and sourced from locally grown organic ingredients that are farm fresh, plant-based, and full of flavor and love.
Gracias Madre was first conceived while visiting the families of restaurant employees in a rural town in Mexico called Tortuga. Gracias Madre communicates our gratitude to the many expressions of the mother - our mothers who nurture us, Mother Earth who provides for us, and the spirit of the Divine Mother who lives within us. During their visit, guests are invited to take a moment at Gracias Madre’s altar and are encouraged to light a candle and share a prayer in reverence.
The website for Gracias Madre can be found here, which includes more information about their origin, location, menu, reservations, private events, and more. There is always a seat for you at Love’s table.
